Lithium-ion-polymer (LiPo) packs are the successors to the well-known lithium-ion (LiIon) packs. The primary advantage of LiPo batteries is their exceptional capacity-to-size ratio. - Do not discharge a LiPo pack below 3V per cell or overcharge it above 4.2V per cell.
- LiPo packs have a low self-discharge rate, losing only about 3-5% of their energy per month when not in use.
- Monitor the pack during extended storage to prevent discharge below the permissible minimum value (3V per cell), which can lead to irreversible chemical reactions and potential damage, including ignition.
